Creating the Double Page Spread

Here are the different steps...

I got this font off a website called 'Font Space' and felt it worked very well.

I stuck to the colour scheme, showing consistancy.

I found that in many magazines, more than one image was used on the double page spread and therefore I felt I should also add another image.

Double Page Spread
The double page spread is one of the more important pages. This obviously had to link well with the front cover. The main feature is obviously the artist ‘Debbie K’ and as this is the main point, this also means that this page would have to be bold. There are 2 pictures that I could possibly use on that page. These were the 2 I was stick between…
I decided to go with the first image. I found that this was much more eye-catching and made the page look more interesting. To make sure, I double checked to see if I was making the right decision by trying out both the images when I had completed the page, and I felt that I did the right thing.

Double Page Spread Image
When I added the writing, I felt that this image wasn’t the best and that I could use a better one on the double page spread to have a more professional finish look. I decided that it was best if I looked through my other images and used one that would be more eye-catching and bold. I wanted to use one that would catch the audience’s attention straight away.
Blur Tool
2) The edges looked rough and untidy and make the image as a whole look very cheap and bad.
Photoshop has many different tools which I have found helpful so far. Firstly, I have used the Lasso tool on nearly everything. I found it easy and quick to use and I think it is very useful. Another tool I have used is the Blur tool. For many of my pictures, I found it very hard to make the edges look smooth. I felt it was important to get the finish look, as it has a large impact on the final product and how the audience would look at it. I came across the Blur tool and I feel that it has been very helpful. Here is one of the images I used it on. I decided I would have this image in my contents as I felt that the mike pointing towards the writing would work well.
1) Using the Lasso tool to cut out the background and separate it from the main image that i wanted. 2) The edges looked rough and untidy and make the image as a whole look very cheap and bad.
